This is a family burial place of the Lumsden family who were one of the first pioneer settlers on what is now Highway 69.

The earliest death noted is Mrs. Lumsden’s husband in 1875 and that is a long way back in the history of those who settled north of Parry Sound. It must have just been a bush trail in those days. The Corbieres had two lots right next to the Lumsdens.
