Patrick is author of some 20 books, most of which can be found in our local history collection. He has written more than 600 newspaper and magazine articles, and many parliamentary and professional reports. Patrick is also a book publisher with Muskoka Book and editor-at-large with Dundurn, another independent Canadian book publishing house.
Join Patrick for his talk How Huntsville and North Muskoka Fought the Great War, 1914-1918--the View One Century Later. He will take you on a journey through time as he talks about the early contributions Huntsville and North Muskoka were making to early 20th century life in Canada and specifically Muskoka's 122nd Battalion.
There is a small cost of $2 for all of our Author Series and people can register at the Library or by phone.
Our Nipissing District Branch has decided to bring to North Bay, Lesley Anderson, Canadian Spokesperson and Records Consultant for Ancestry, to speak to us on Saturday, May 14th. Her topics will be:
- Ain't I a Woman? - Researching Your Female Ancestors
- Immigration to Canada and
- What's New at Ancestry.
Leslie will also be bringing with her door prizes of:
- a World Deluxe Ancestry Membership and
- a DNA kit
I have attached a copy of the poster as well as the registration brochure containing more details. If you could send these out to your members, that would be greatly appreciated. We are hoping for a large crowd so if your members want to guarantee a spot, they should mail their registrations in as soon as possible.
If anyone has any questions, please send an email to me and I will get back to them.
