I was referred to you by the Nipissing Branch. I am looking for some information about someone buried in Christie Memorial Cemetery. On findagrave, they are listed as a female, but I suspect it is a male and is my 3-g grandfather. His name is Francis Cochenour and he is buried with James Cochenour. Francis died Jan 22, 1914 and James died Dec 31, 1912. Can you find any information about him? I live in Arizona. Judy

Mary’s immigration year is 1872.Mary died in 1925 and is buried in Tonawanda.Looks like Francis and Mary were separated and he went back to Canada.1911 census his name is transcribed as Francis Catherine. Maybe that’s where someone got the idea he was female. Census also says he was widowed but Mary was still alive then. Census are notorious for wrong information. Hope this helps some. I am positive that he and James were brothers. Unfortunately cannot view the headstones on line anymore. Don’t know why findagrave decided he was female.James wife’s name was Penelope. If you want any information on him let me know. Some of my relatives are buried in Christie Cemetery.
