A Surname Inquiry

Lawson

My dad's paternal line includes the Scottish Lawson family that settled in Concession A of Humphrey Township, near Trout Lake. My great-grandfather was Richard Lawson, his father and grandfather were Cyrus and Rankin Lawson. They had homes near Trout Lake and leased or owned a number of other lots in the area which I think were for logging rights.

I might be able to help your inquiry. I live on Trout Lake (former Humphrey Township, now Township of Seguin), District of Parry Sound. My Gr.Grandfather, Joseph Rankin Hicks is named after his relative, Rankin Lawson. The Lawson family were cousins. – Karen Fraser Bethune
