A BY-LAW OF THE CORPORATION OF THE TOWN OF
BRACEBRIDGE TO ACQUIRE PART OF LOT 3,
CONCESSION 13, FORMER TOWNSHIP OF DRAPER,

WHEREAS, Section 8 of the Municipal Act, S.O. 2001, (hereinafter referred to as the “Municipal Act”)
provides that the powers of a municipality under the Municipal Act or any other Act shall be interpreted
broadly so as to confer broad authority on the municipality to enable the municipality to govern its affairs
as it considers appropriate and to enhance the municipality’s ability to respond to municipal issues;
AND WHEREAS, Section 9 of the Municipal Act provides that a municipality has the capacity, rights,
powers and privileges of a natural person for the purpose of exercising its authority under the Municipal
Act or any other Act;
AND WHEREAS, Section 11 of the Municipal Act provides that a lower-tier municipality may pass by-laws
respecting matters within the spheres of jurisdiction set out therein including, inter alia, highways;
AND WHEREAS by motion 17-GC-285, the Council of The Corporation of the Town of Bracebridge
deems it expedient to pass such a by-law.
NOW THEREFORE THE COUNCIL OF THE CORPORATION OF THE TOWN OF BRACEBRIDGE
ENACTS AS FOLLOWS:

That the Corporation of the Town of Bracebridge acquire that part of Lot 3, Concession 13, former
Township of Draper, now in the Town of Bracebridge, District Municipality of Muskoka,
designated as Part 1 on Plan 35R-25600 and establish same as part of the municipal highway
system.
That the said Part 1 is hereby named Ferrier Drive.
That this by-law shall come into force and effect immediately upon final passing thereof.
READ A FIRST, SECOND AND THIRD TIME AND FINALLY PASSED THIS 7TH DAY OF MARCH, 2018.
