A Surname Inquiry
Oles/Olds, Rouse/Rausch, Borland/Boland
am looking for information on Charles Rouse Oles, twin brother George Oles - born approx 1831 in Brantford. Parents are Gilbert F Oles (born 1799 Haldimand, died 12, Sept 1883 Langford) and Sarah Rouse/Rausch born 183 London, Middlesex Ontario and died 20, March 1910 Langford.
Charles married Rachel Elizabeth Borland/Oles
George married Julia Williams
I can not find any documentation of them on census or elsewhere.
Gilbert Oles’ father was also named Gilbert Oles. He was born in Pennsylania. He married Elizabeth Brice in 1793 in Ft Erie. According to the History of Brant book, page 588, he settled in what became Haldimand County area, returned to USA in 1800 and died. She then moved with children to Mt Pleasant.
