The entries below were taken from the book, “These Our Ancestors Were”, but the township it was located in was not mentioned. Lorimer Lake and Lorimer Lake Road traverse both townships of Ferguson and Hagerman. The 1879 Atlas of Parry Sound District show a lot owned by W. Reynolds located on Lorimer Lake in Ferguson Township. This is how I made the assumption that it is located her. The verse mentioned below indicates that there was probably a sister or brother who wrote it.
This burial place is approximately one half mile on the private driveway off the Lorimer Lake Road. There are two stones here fenced by a single rail on the four sides placed on corner posts. There are tall forest trees completely surrounding the area, and some tiger lilies have at one time been planted over the graves but have been neglected now. The area is covered with the normal leaves and moss of a forest ground cover.
The above information would indicate that this was a very early and isolated patent. Also that the daughter had never married, but had brothers and or sisters.
At the foot of the daughter’s grave is a small footstone with the following verse:
A loving daughter, sister dear
A faithful friend when she was here.
She lived with hope, she died in peace
We trust her days will never cease.
A faithful friend when she was here.
She lived with hope, she died in peace
We trust her days will never cease.
